From strategy, to action, to impact, we unleash the power of your people to drive…
Every year here at Synergy we choose a charity to be our ‘Charity of the Year’ to lend our support.
Over the past year, we’ve been so happy to have been able to support Unseen in their fight to create a world without slavery.
Throughout 2016 our team has been lending our creative skills and know-how alongside some great fundraising efforts. From photoshoots and report design through to sponsored bike rides and a Neon Night Walk, our aim has always been to show support for Unseen’s incredible work with men and women from across the UK who have been enslaved, trafficked and exploited. There are up to 13,000 victims of slavery in the UK alone. Victims can be men, women and children of all ages and cut across the population, but it is normally more prevalent amongst the most vulnerable, minority or socially excluded groups. Unseen provides survivors with the safe accommodation and support they need to integrate back into the community. 2016 was a huge year for Unseen. They opened a brand new 24-hour safe-house for men which is the first of its kind in the South West, if not the UK. And in October, they went on to launch a national 24-hour Modern Slavery Helpline for people to call if they need help, they are worried about someone else, or they want some advice. These initiatives have been a huge success and we’re so glad we were able to lend a helping hand. Unseen’s Managing Director, Kate Garbers said, “Both projects have proved to be highly successful and, without funding from companies like Synergy, they simply wouldn’t have been possible. Next, our sights are set on opening a care and accommodation unit for children who’ve been trafficked into the UK, so watch this space.” More information about how Unseen is helping victims of slavery across the UK can be found here.
