Earlier this month ‘Force Friday’ caused a stir online and off, as all of the new merchandise for Star Wars: The Force Awakens was revealed to the world. Disney stores had midnight releases, and social media was set alight with the #forcefriday hashtag.
The item on everyone’s wish list was this loveable little fella, the BB-8 Remote Droid.

He was first seen in the film’s official trailer, released back in November, where most people assumed the droid was a CGI effect.
But luckily for us, the guys over at Sphero worked their magic and have brought BB-8 to the world!
The mechanics are more than impressive; the droid can be controlled via mobile app and his head moves independently to his body.
But the best part? Through clever design they’ve given him an adorable personality that we’re sure will make him the top of the Christmas wish list for kids (and big kids!) everywhere.
We think this is the perfect blend of awesome technology and stunning design.
