Improving brand advocacy among employees is certainly a topic of conversation in many organisations today.…
This week, we welcomed Polly into the Synergy offices to gain some experience in the busy world of a creative agency.
We asked her to tell us a bit about her time here, and which parts she enjoyed most… ” During my 12 week summer holiday after my GCSEs, I really wanted to complete a work experience placement in a creative agency where I would get a lot out of it, being hands-on as well as just watching and listening whilst the staff worked.
On my first day, Melanie (Account Director) had created a case study in which a new restaurant, ‘Pizza Perfect’ was opening in the centre of Bristol, and my task was to create a brand image, website and social networking pages for them. I researched into what the competition were doing, and how their websites looked, whilst also coming up with my own ideas on how to make Pizza Perfect stand out.
I created a Powerpoint presentation with all of my ideas and information that I had found out and presented it to the team, which helped improve my public speaking skills (something I have always found very scary). Finally I made a brief for the project and took it up to the studio so they could create a logo and a poster for the restaurant, which I got to take home to remind me of my experience!
I really enjoyed other tasks like proof-reading, reading through new projects, and sitting in on internal meetings, learning how the day-to-day business of the company works. The team were all so kind and helpful. They answered any questions I had and helped me to learn a lot about the company. I really enjoyed the three days I spent at Synergy with the account management team, and feel that its definitely something I want to pursue in future years as a possible career”.
