From strategy, to action, to impact, we unleash the power of your people to drive…
We read a really good article by The Guardian Sustainable Business about engaging employees with sustainability, energy efficiency and csr initiatives.
A number of discussion groups were held and companies offered their advice and case studies. You can read the full article here – Engaging employees with sustainability by The Guardian. Some of the good nuggets we took from the report included:
- Open dialogue with employees about sustainability and their ideas before communicating your strategy
- Foster a culture of sustainability honestly in the organisation with directors commitment
- Build long term themes and relationships via sustainability projects
- Empower employees and give employees options on what to commit to – for example one company talked about giving energy budgets to each department
- Make CSR into a brand which everyone can relate to and recognise
- Deliver messages in a personal, fun and engaging way Everyone felt that by following these principles employees would be more inclined to live the same values at home and speak positively about the organisation externally.
