81% of employees say recognition makes them more satisfied with work.
A really interesting research report from Globoforce about the strong link between recognition and employee engagement. Globoforce conducted the survey with 653 employees in the US and found that employee recognition schemes are on the rise in US companies and that frequent recognition relates directly to employee satisfaction. Their conclusion? Employee appreciation is the foundation for motivation. Here’s a few interesting facts from the report.
- 81% of employees said recognition made them more satisfied with their work and position in the company. Across the board, recognition mapped directly to feeling appreciated and job satisfaction.
- Over half of employees surveyed said they would leave their jobs for a company that clearly recognises their efforts – recognised employees are more inclined to stick around.
- Positive recognition from managers and peers has proven to make a significant difference to engagement with 82% saying being recognised actually motivated them in their jobs.
