Our definition of
employee experience

Your people are your greatest asset; creating the right conditions for them to be their best is now a business imperative. Improved employee experiences increase engagement and performance, drive retention, enhance culture and supercharge business growth.

Find out how an integrated employee experience can earn you a meaningful role in employees’ lives.

HELP YOUR PEOPLE
BE THEIR BEST

Employee experience is the sum of people’s interactions within an organisation they work for, meaning you need to look at the good and the bad.

Good experiences can make people feel secure, proud, and successful. Bad ones can cause people to feel resentful, disengaged – or even scared. And both are inextricably linked to the performance of your business.

When a brand creates meaningful, valued experiences, it gives employees reasons to join, stay, and bring their whole selves to work each day.

Your employee experience delivers on the promise you made to employees. At McCann Synergy, we like to call it ‘The Deal’.

WORLD-LEADING CHEMICAL MANUFACTURER

A world-leading chemical manufacturer, based across 50 countries, with over 30,000 employees and growing. Faced with an ambitious 3-year recruitment target, in a competitive and challenging marketplace.

The brief: to develop an EVP that positions them as the leading employer in chemicals, worldwide. Our extensive Truth Hunting phase spanned 57 focus groups, 11 talent segments and 9 local languages. Combined with insight into external perceptions, using natural language analysis (NLA): 10,000 conversations analysed, 60 countries in 17 languages.

We’re now working with 10 global HR business units to bring the EVP to life in moments that matter across the entire employee lifecycle, re-designing each employee touchpoint. We’re also developing a global employee communications and engagement strategy to raise awareness of the evolved employee experience.

ODEON/UCI Cinema Group

We worked with ODEON to build a compelling EVP and create employee experiences that helped attract, engage and retain people that had a passion for delivering great service. We ran experience mapping workshops and investigated every touchpoint in detail through a critical analysis. From a new careers website, to revamped recognition programme, to fresh approaches to learning and development, we applied insight and creativity to every EX touchpoint.

The result: OHI scores put ODEON in the top decile of companies McKinsey had in its databased, increased market share of 19.4% and increased customer NPS. Odeon was subsequently bought by AMC in a deal valued at £921m.
